The gaming industry thrives on sequels and it’s not an exaggeration because if you go browse across some of the most popular games, they are sequels to an original game.

The game titles that earn billions every time they are released were launched 10 or 20 years ago on a completely different platform. Call of Duty, Super Mario Bros, Grand Theft Auto are some great examples and these titles have managed to withstand the test of time.

Here are 6 game sequels to expect in 2018. Hope you super excited and looking forward to these!

Red Dead Redemption 2 – The Most Anticipated Sequel of Them All

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most anticipated sequel that you just can’t miss out and it will be available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game is developed by Rockstar, the company behind the hugely successful GTA V. Get ready to rob trains, fight with other cowboys and explore a huge world on your horseback. The game is set for release on October 26th, 2018.

State of Decay 2 – A Survival Experience for Xbox One Fans

If Sony has a couple of known exclusives and sequels launching this year, State of Decay 2 is the sequel to the popular title on Xbox One console. The game is available on PC and is also a part of the Play Anywhere program. Reviews are positive already and the title should be out on the Xbox One, Xbox One X on May 22 this year. It’s a survival zombie horror game where you have to scavenge to survive the apocalypse. The screenshots look gorgeous and the game should be too!

Metro Exodus

The Metro series is a popular first-person shooter available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game’s latest iteration is developed by 4A Games and is slated for launch in 2018. The sequel Metro Last Light was released in 2013 and this sequel which comes several years later, should be a great way to visit the underground life of people stuck in a toxic city where survival requires lots of gunfighting and gas masks.

Darksiders III

Darksiders III developed by Nordic Games and published by THQ is a title that could easily stand on its own with a unique combat system. If you love third person, hack and slash titles, this should be the one to go. Besides, with the arrival on PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X console, the graphics and gameplay are expected to receive some significant upgrades to make use of the extra hardware power found in these new gen consoles.

Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3 is the sequel to the popular Xbox exclusive which got released way back in 2010. The game was supposed to have released two years back but got delayed until 2018. While it doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, Crackdown 3 is expected to build big on the sci-fi storyline and will allow players to literally destroy anything and everything inside the game’s futuristic world. The game design is powered by Azure allowing players to experience exceptional freedom unlike most other titles that are very linear in terms of combat and gameplay narrative.

Mega Man 11

Mega Man 11, as the name suggests, is the 11th iteration of the classic, arcade game which goes all the way back to the days of NES and Atari. The game features modern graphical upgrades and has been tweaked for newest consoles yet retains the original, nostalgic feel. The game is slated for launch in the month of December and is probably the last one to look forward to towards the end of the year.
