The Vanilla Android experience is something users can always get with the Nexus range of smartphones now replaced by Pixel phones.

Google Pixel is the first flagship smartphone which is very expensive compared to the highly affordable Nexus phones that ruled the roost for many years. However, the company may have preferred to compete directly with Apple iPhones that led to the price increase. The all-metal body, new features does impress which is about to get much bigger when the Pixel 2 smartphones get released.

Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2

Based on multiple rumors, it is known that Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are the two flagship smartphones to be unveiled for 2018. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are already launched but Apple is yet to bring its big guns out, the iPhone 8 models. Google will directly compete with the big player by launching their devices almost in the same time as their competitor with the latest chipset, much better build quality and of course Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.

The latest rumor or possibly a confirmed news is that the next Pixel smartphone is getting launched this October. Not just any day but specifically on the 5th of Oct according to a new tweet by Evan Blass. The Twitter personality is known for pushing the limits when it comes to providing authentic rumors and majority of the time, he is able to predict it perfectly and this could be another true update from him.

Google is not going to make any big moves this time around because the company is going with the safe bet. They have used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor which is slightly better than the outgoing 835 flagship processor. A lot of older smartphones and even mid-range devices can easily make use of this chipset which should become cheaper as soon as the flagship devices get launched.

The company is also expected to follow the same strategy of providing the maximum number of Pixel phones in the United States first before they step in to UK, Europe and other markets. It enables them to create a stronghold in the region where Apple has dominated for so many years and continue to do so, every time they launch a new device. The pricing is expected to be same as the old Pixel phones as it can’t get any more expensive than those. Google also plans to focus in Spain and Japan this year to promote their new flagship phone.
