The LG V30 has both fans and critics excited due to the high-end specs that the phone will have.

Many have compared it to the Apple iPhone 8, with some claiming that it is much better. This furor has made us look at what exact features are raising the adrenaline levels of users. Here is a look at the main issues doing the rounds in the rumor mills, and how they compare for the two Smartphones.

Main features

The iPhone 8 will have a water resistant body, which can hold resistance up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It comes with a certification of IP68. It will also have a wide color gamut display, a display zoom capability, and 3D Touch Display and home button. The iPhone 8 will have a Super AMOLED capacitative screen with 16M colors and a resolution of 1242 X 2800 pixels. The dimensions of the screen are 5.1 inches with a 601 ppi pixel density. The screen will have multitouch capability and will be protected by an ion-strengthened glass, oleophobic coating. The oleophobic coating will keep off oil, so no more fingerprint stains on the display

The LG V30 will have a P-OLED capacitative touchscreen with 16M colors and a resolution of 1440 X 2880 pixels. The dimensions of the screen will be 6.0 inches with a 537 ppi pixel density. It will also have a screen with multitouch capability and it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.


The iPhone 8 will have memory features ranging from 64GB to 256GB storage space and 3GB RAM while the LG V30 will have two variations of 64GB Storage space and 4GB RAM and 128GB Storage space and 6GB RAM.


The iPhone 8 will have a 12 megapixels camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection, Optical image stabilization, and a quad-LED dual tone flash. It will also feature a 1/3 inch sensor, simultaneous 4k video and 8 megapixel image recording. It will have geo-tagging capabilities and a touch focus feature. It also supports face/smile detection and HDR for both panorama and normal picture.

The LG V30 will have a dual 13 megapixel cameras at the back with one having an f/1.6 aperture. It will also have Optical Image Stabilization, 3-axis, phase detection AF. The other will have an f/2.2 aperture, no AF and a simple LED flash.

The iPhone 8 will have a Nano-SIM, and an Apple 11 chipset, Quad-core processor. The sensors will be a fingerprint scanner at the front, accelerometer, proximity, gyro, barometer and compass. It will have volume and lock keys on the side

The LG V30 will come with Dual SIM configuration and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Octa-core CPU. It will also have an Adreno 540 GPU. The sensors will be a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, color spectrum and compass. It will also have volume and lock keys on the side.

Additional features

Apple iPhone will have iCloud services, a document editor, wireless charging, audio/video/photo editor and the famous Siri. The LG will feature fast battery charging, a photo/video editor and a document editor.

Now looking at all these features mentioned above, it would be safe to say that although the LG V30 is quite a remarkable phone, it will not beat the iPhone when it comes to what it can offer users. The rumors floating around that the LG V30 can actually beat the iPhone 8 do not seem to bear any substance. The iPhone would still top the LG V30 hands down.
