It has already been confirmed that OnePlus 5 will be unveiled on June 20, which is actually a week from now.

Many are excited about the launch of this phone and if you aren’t yet convinced about what there really is to get excited about, well, here’re are the top 5 reasons that will make you want to buy this phone when it hits the market.

OnePlus 5 Top 5 Reasons

Sleeker design

OnePlus has already given out several teasers of what the OnePlus 5 will look like. In short, we know what the phone looks like even before it has been released. From the shared images, the phone is without a doubt sleeker than ever. This is nothing new from the Chinese OEM. If you have been following the brand since the first OnePlus One up to last year’s OnePlus 3 and 3T, you will agree that the tech company never sleeps on the job when it comes to the design aspect. The story is even much better as far as the 5 is concerned.

OnePlus 5 is a flagship killer with massive raw power

You’ve probably heard of other flagship killers, however, OnePlus 5 is built for the kill. This phone is set to hit the market red hot and blazing fast thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC and a massive 8GB RAM. With such power under the hood, this will be the most powerful phone in the market – well ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S8, Sony Xperia XZ Premium or even Xiaomi Mi 6. Perhaps, the only match would be the Nubia Z17.

The best dual cameras thanks to DxOMark

Since 2016, smartphones with dual cameras have been all over, however, none of them have received a higher DXOMark ranking than the 89 or 90 achieved by the Google Pixel and HTC U11, respectively. Given that the OnePlus 5 camera has been made in conjunction with DxOMark, you can expect a dual-lens setup that is one of the best, if not the best in the market.

If you have seen the iPhone 7 Plus, the upcoming OnePlus 5 will have its cameras arranged in the same manner as the Apple flagship. There’s talk of three 16MP sensors – two on the back and one on the front, but this will be confirmed next week Tuesday.

The best bang for your buck

Since the release of OnePlus One, the company has taken pride in giving its fans smartphones that are well built and pack high-end specs yet priced at affordable rates. The most recent example is the OnePlus 3 and 3T, where the two carried top-notch specs and features yet priced at below $400 and $500, respectively.

Even though the company has not confirmed the price of the new OnePlus 5, word on the street has it that the phone will be priced at below $500 for the standard model of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, with the high-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant getting a price tag of about $530 or maybe below.

Improved software updates

Last but not least, OnePlus 5 will be coming with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. As usual, this OS will not be stock, rather, you can expect the company’s OxygenOS or HydrogenOS skin on top. Even though OnePlus 2 users have been denied a deserving update to Android Nougat, how the company has been handling software updates for the OnePlus 3 and 3T is an indicator that OnePlus 5 buyers can expect even better and timely software updates from OnePlus.
