Oppo R11 and its sibling Oppo R11 Plus will be unveiled on June 10.
This is not so far away and as usual, we have plenty of details regarding these two phones ahead of their official unveiling, which is next week Saturday.
For starters, the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus have been all over the rumor mills for months now. The two have appeared in leaks, speculators have had their say and the company itself has had a share of its controlled leaks and/or teasers. From all these, we can rest assured that we have all the possible details we need to know about the two phones.
Recently, leaked posters of the Oppo R11 appeared online, showing off the phone’s specs and features. Now, in a new leak, the official renders of the Oppo R11 have just surfaced showing off the phone in full glory covered in black, gold and rose gold finishes. These are colors associated with Apple and its iPhone, but this is not the only thing that the R11 has in common with the iPhone.
Apparently, the Oppo R11 will ship with a dual-lens camera on the back. If you place the phone side by side with the iPhone 7 Plus, you’ll notice huge similarities in terms of camera placement. It gets even more interesting when it comes to the overall design of the Oppo phone compared to what Apple has to offer with the iPhone 7 Plus. However, the Oppo logo on the back makes all the difference whereas the front panel is also different; especially when looking at the bottom bezel that houses the fingerprint scanner.
While the Oppo R11 might be hard to pick out from a mixture of iPhone 7 Plus handsets, the similarities between the two end with the design language. As for the rest of the specs and features, the two phones are worlds apart, just as expected. From the leaked posters, we know what hardware specs the R11 and its brother R11 Plus will carry.
If all these materials are to be believed, the Oppo R11 will come with a decent 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen that boasts a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, once again, same as the iPhone 7 Plus. To protect it from getting scratches or even cracking, the Chinese company will use Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, this phone is expected to ship with a decent package that includes a Snapdragon 660 SoC that is paired with a RAM of 4GB and onboard storage of 64GB. This storage will be expandable via a microSD card slot.
For the operating system, the Oppo R11 will carry the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the ColorOS 3.1 skin on top. To stay alive, a 3000mAh battery unit that supports fast charging will be in used, possibly with a microUSB port for charging. While most of these specs are retained on the Oppo R11 Plus, there are others that will be dropped. The R11 Plus will ditch the smaller 5.5-inch display in favor of a bigger 6-inch panel, but the same resolution will be retained. Even though the same processor and storage will be used on the Oppo R11 Plus, the phone will up the RAM to 6GB. You’ll also come across the same operating system, but a bigger 4000mAh battery unit.
Oppo is known as the selfie expert and to no surprise; the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus will ship with a massive 20MP shooter on the front camera. As for the rear panel, you’ll come across a massive dual 20MP+16MP sensor, which is something we’ve not seen before on a smartphone.
All of these specs and features are based on speculations and leaks, so take them with a grain of salt. But we should get to know the exact details in a little over a week from now.
