Who doesn’t use emoji? They’re part of our lives whether we like it or not, and people insert them in chats when they don’t want to describe in words their mood. It’s simpler to put a smiley face, a sad face or any other emoji in a message and the other person will understand its meaning. Many new emoji were introduced in iOS 10.2 and Android 7.1 Nougat and now they’re available in the latest WhatsApp 2.17.44 beta.

Hundreds of new emoji were copied from iOS 10.2 and Android 7.1 Nougat and introduced in WhatsApp for Android (2.17.44). We’re talking about Unicode 9.0 emoji which will be available even for users who have devices running on Android Marshmallow, Lollipop and older. Users will get a number of new profession emoji representing both genders (farmer, teacher, doctor etc.), a dancing boy, a girl and boy doing a facepalm, a clown, an avocado or kiwi, a butterfly, a nauseated face, a whiskey glass, bacon and many more. Also, there are emojo for transport vehicles such as aircraft and there are different skin tones to choose from.

Some of these emoji were previously added to Telegram 3.16 and now they’re available in the most popular messaging application. WhatsApp 2.17.44 beta has 32.53 MB in size and it can be downloaded from the Google Play store. If you are not a tester yet, open the store, search for WhatsApp, scroll down and click on card. Then click on I’m in and you will see a pop up message which will require you to confirm the action. You will click on Join and you see the following message: “Beta Signup in Progress” that will change to “You’re a beta tester”. After getting this confirmation, you will go to My Apps & Games and you will switch to the third tab marked “BETA”.
