Following last year’s Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung is looking to start 2017 on the right foot with the addition of their all new flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8. Some rumors have surfaced over the internet around the device and tech enthusiasts have a good idea of what will the South Korean tech giant will look like. A lot of interesting features such as high-end specs and a new artificial intelligence will make waves in the smartphone market.

Samsung is going to update their design in 2017 as it will receive smaller bezels and the physical home button will pretty much disappear from the device. There will not be any Edge variants this year as the device will feature a display curved on both sides. A larger display will be fitted in the display area and it is widely believed that the new smartphone will feature a 5.7 inch display. The Plus variant is most likely going to pack a whopping 6.3 inch screen.

A notable change is that of the laser autofocus and flash modules are going to be moved above the camera contrary to what Samsung used to do before. Unlike the previous models which had the modules either beside or below the snapper, the new ensemble will be featured in an odd position, that of on top of the camera.

Taking into account the battery from the Note 7 which had a tendency to spontaneously combust, this year Samsung are taking extra care not to repeat the flaw which cost them $2 billion. It is rumored that they have added a heat pipe to make sure that the extra heat from the battery will have a place to escape.

The device is rumored to come equipped with a 4.200mAh battery which a hefty update from the previous Galaxy S7 device. Being almost the same size as the S7, the device will most likely be a bit thicker unless Samsung has done some optimization in hardware arrangement.

As previously mentioned, the device will have a two screen variants which are believed to sport Super AMOLED Quad HD panels. The whole device is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip paired with an Adreno 540 GPU which comes from the same manufacturer. The device will have a whopping 64GB of RAM as well as 64GB of expandable internal storage.

The most anticipated feature which is believed to be found on the S8 is Bixby, a successor to the S Voice which will function just like the likes of Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri and Cortana. It is basically a search engine and will have the ability to use the device’s camera in order to enable its users to do some visual searches.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Plus devices are rumored to be announced in a separate event in April irrespective of the fact that they’ve previously announced their Galaxy S lineup at the Mobile World Congress.
