Very good news ahead for racing game fans out there. The popular DiRT franchise is coming back with another installment. This time around, you get your racing on in DiRT 4, which promises to be a very successful iteration of the series that started quite a long time ago. The release dates for this title have been set, and unless something goes wrong until then, you will be able to get your hands on it in June. To be more precise, the game will be released on the 6th of June in the US. People from Europe will have to wait until the 9th of June before getting a copy. All major platforms are support, so you can get it for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC.
DiRT 4 will introduce a brand new experience through its Your Stage feature. This feature will allow players to create their own levels. From choosing the race course’s location to how the actual track unfolds, you can have the final say over how your level will look like. Once you’re done, you can take it for a spin or invite your friends to test it out with you. DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 are direct sequels but last we’ve heard of the franchise was last year when Codemasters brought out DiRT Rally, which took a slight turn away from the main series.
The developer promises to bring a well rounded experience that incorporates successful elements from all previous games, thus assuring that players will appreciate DiRT 4 the same way they did the aforementioned prequels. So what are these features? Let’s take a look.
- 50 Off-road vehicle models to choose from, from brands like Subaru, Mitsubishi, Audi and Ford;
- Racing areas from real life dirt track locations such as Nevada, California or Mexico, Australia, Michigan, Spain, Wales or Sweden;
- Single player and multiplayer challenges that test your limits in a competitive racing scene;
- Realistic prep and progression including the DiRT Academy, vehicle damage control and vehicle tuning.
These and many others will become available in June when the game drops on shelves worldwide, so if you’re a racing fan make sure to mark your calendar.
