Sharing is caring!

The developers of WhatsApp have added a new feature to the application called “Live Locations”. According to WABetaInfo, this new feature has to be enabled using configuration files. However, it seems that this new feature will be enabled to all users once all bugs will be fixed.

You should know that this is a very interesting feature, as it allows you to share your location with your friends under the “Show my friends” option in the group’s settings. Once you tap on “Show my friends”, you will notice an option that allows you to enable the feature for a limited time only. You can enable this feature for one minute, two minutes or five minutes, but if you trust the people from that particular group, you can always let it enabled permanently.

This feature will surely make things easier for all members of the groups where they have to settle where to meet their friends at a particular location and some of them don’t know the directions to get there. Once you tap “Show my friends”, you will see a map which will allow you to see the location of all your friends that have this feature enabled.

We have to mention that the map is powered by Google Maps and it also gives you an option to switch to Satellite, Terrain or Map view. We have to agree that there will be users who will not want to share their location, but if you are in a trustful group where you have only trustworthy friends, we’re pretty sure that you will not have problems when sharing your location.

WhatsApp might also receive the “Video Conference” feature sometime in the near future. This new option will allow you to make Video calls to two or more users at the same time. Unfortunately, the developers have not confirmed yet this rumored feature, so we should take this news with a bit of salt.
