The battle of the Android smartphones continues, with big and new players wheeling out new models each year. OPPO Electronics Corporation, is a consumer electronics company in the arena and continues to offer new Android phones to consumers. So far, it has released several models since 2008. And now, there are rumors that it will be introducing its Oppo Find 9 flagship for 2017 in March or at least in the first half of the year, which is probably in June.
Although no exact time frame as to when the launch will really happen, one thing is for sure. This flagship promises improved features different from its predecessor, OPPO Find 7, released in 2014. Some images of the smartphone has already been leaked online.
What’s new with the OPPO Find 9?
Looking at the image of the smartphone, one can see an interesting design that appears to be almost bezel-less and the display being borderless. These are not the only appealing characteristics of the OPPO Find 9. One is that it will come in two variants, with a high-end model and a mid-range one.
According to reports, the expensive model will have a Snapdragon 835 processor, 128GB internal memory and a fast 6BG RAM. Conversely, the lower-end model will be powered by Snapdragon 653, a smaller 64GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM.
The phone looks elegant with the display seemingly covering the whole device while both models will come with a new Android OS variant which will be known as Find OS. For the screen, it is said to boast of a 5.5-inch QHD+ at 3,200 x 1,800 pixels or UHD display at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Oppo is believed to be the first in terms of incorporating a higher display resolution on a smartphone. While the design is somewhat similar to OPPO Find 7, there are slight differences. This includes dual camera sensors located at the back. There is also the speaker grill at the rear as well the OPPO logo.
The rumored fingerprint sensor will be located at the front while the rear camera will be a 21-megapixel Exmor type and 16 MP sensor at the front. Also, the edge-to-edge display will have software buttons and Cat, 9 4G LTE which will have a speed of up to 452 Mbps. This special camera and an impressive reflective back cover are just some of the features of the OPPO Find 9. Another expected feature is the Super VOOC fast charging that comes with a durable and long-life 4100mAh battery. There will also be a USB Type-C port. Rumors about the OPPO Find 9 have been around since 2015 and up to this day, everything about the latest flagship remains to be a buzz.
When OPPO Find 7 was launched in 2014 and also came with another variant, the OPPO Find 7a. Find 7 has 3GB RAM and is powered by a 2.5 GHz Quad-Core processor while the 7a has 2GB RAM.
Meanwhile, in 2103, the China-based electronics corporation released the N1 and then in the early part of 2016, there was the OPPO N3. In 2014, however, one of the world’s tiniest smartphones was also introduced. This was called the OPPO R5. For mid-range models, there was the OPPO F1 which had a face-off with Samsung Galaxy J7.
