Sharing is caring!

Whenever new version of an operating system comes out, some applications and software end up misbehaving and not working properly. WhatsApp is no exception, what with it failing to embrace certain features of Android 7.0 Nougat. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp Beta, however, all’s good and running as normal.

When Nougat came out, it brought new notification features with it – notifications are grouped by conversation and improved ways to use quick reply, both of which WhatsApp has yet to embrace. At that time, it was stuck with the traditional style.

But WhatsApp version 2.17.13 beta is finally optimized for Android 7.0 or 7.1 Nougat’s notification style.

See all messages from personal and group chat

Before the beta update, only the most recent messages will show on notification and not the entire conversation. All this has changed with the latest WhatsApp version.

Reply to individual messages within the notification menu

Quick Reply option will no longer disappear when you want to send a reply from the notification menu, making it more convenient to use the app.

Improve notification behavior

Following the release of the beta app, WhatsApp conversations will no longer unbundle, and expansion of multiple message will also work.

Notification fixes on Android Wear devices

Got WhatsApp on any Android Wear devices? Using the beta version will now allow you to use quick reply to notifications from the device without any problem.

After support for searching GIFs within the app has been added, WhatsApp continues to hold its place as one of the most widely used messaging app service. But the additional feature that the version 2.17.13 brings has made it essential and almost irreplaceable by users’ standards.

To take advantage of WhatsApp beta, you must sign up as a beta tester on the Play Store. You can always wait for the public version to be rolled out, but being a tester gives you an opportunity to suggest and recommend other features and improvements.

Suffice to say that you will be able to enjoy more of what the WhatsApp beta has in store for you if you sign up for the testing program.
