Huawei started the year on the right foot, releasing the P8 Lite 2017 pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.0. If you happen to own a Honor 6X, or a Note 8 or any other mid-range Huawei smartphone, then you are definitely interested to find out when it will receive the update. Well, we have good news for you, as Huawei’s Android 7.0 Nougat Update Roadmap has just been leaked and it revealed all mid-rangers that will be updated throughout 2017.
Playfuldroid has posted a leaked table on Weibo, according to which, in March will be updated the Huawei Nova smartphone, then Honor Note 8 and Huawei G9 Plus will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.0 a month later. In May will be updated the Honor 6X and the MediaPad M3 tablet, and this is where the list stops.
The owners of the aforementioned devices will enjoy the improvements that have been made in EMUI 5.0, and they’ll appreciate the new interface design. With only two or three clicks, users will activate 90 percent of the main functions and they will notice improvements in battery life. The machine learning will learn which applications are used more frequently, so they will be resource optimized automatically, while App Lock will be like an extra measure of precaution, as it will allow users to lock their favorite messaging applications with a unique password.
EMUI 5.0 was unveiled back in November, when it was launched alongside the Mate 9 flagship. Huawei has announced that Android 7.0 Nougat will later roll out to its Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus, P9 Lite, Nova and Nova Plus and this is expected to happen in the first quarter 2017. The leaked roadmap confirms that the Huawei Nova is about to receive the update, and we’re waiting to see if the software will hit all devices from the leaked list.
