The new security update that has been pushed to El Capitan will help the users reduce a kernel issue where their Mac would become unresponsive. So, if you had some random crashes issues with your Mac, than there are high chances that once you install the new update, these problems will finally go away.
If your Mac runs on OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, then you can already find the Security Update 2016-003 in the Mac App Store Updates tab. We remind you that Apple has released the last El Capitan build back in July 2016.
Apple has not released yet the security changes that this new update brings, but soon enough, they should be revealed via the company’s security updates webpage.
