Sharing is caring!

WhatsApp usually releases new features for Android users, but they’re firstly beta tested and the beta updates can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. And now that Nougat is making its way to more devices, currently being installed on 0.7% of the total number of Android phones and tablets, WhatsApp has finally added full support for this operating system’s notification system.

Previously, WhatsApp has included only the latest message of a conversation in notifications, and when users wanted to quickly reply to messages, they were disappearing when a new message was sent within the same conversation. But the latest WhatsApp 2.17.13 Beta has taken care of this problem, so from now on, WhatsApp notifications will behave normally in Android Nougat.

So, when some will receive multiple messages, all of them will appear inside the notification and when you will reply from the notification, you will find all messages in there. Also, when you will receive multiple messages from more contacts, they will be bundled into a single notification. However, you have the possibility to unbundle them and reply to each conversation without needing to leave the notification.

Hopefully, this new feature will make its appearance in the stable WhatsApp release soon, but if you can’t wait for its release, then you can download the latest beta update 2.17.13 from the Google Play Store, after tapping “I’m on” on the “Become a beta tester” card.

On the other hand, WhatsApp for Android has received a new beta update which offers the testers the possibility to search for GIFs from services such as GIPHY. Also, the users are able to share more media at once, as WhatsApp has raised the limit from ten files to thirty files. Unfortunately, the iPhone users will need to wait for this update until later this year. Meanwhile, they will still need to send multiple messages in order to include more media files.
