Android users are excited about the newest Android firmware – the Android Nougat 7.0, which has rolled out on various smartphones like the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Play, Android One and Pixel C. However, Samsung device holders are wondering if and when the Nougat update will be applied to them.
Not too long ago, Motorola published a list of devices they would soon see an OS update. There’s also been a list circulating about the potential Samsung Android phones that will get Nougat such as the Galaxy J5 and J7.
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy J series is still the smartphone for many users because of its cost and features. But, rumors have persisted that its Galaxy J2 won’t be getting the update while the J2 (2016) is set to receive the Android OS through OTA.
Some of the devices that are anticipated to receive Nougat include:
- J3 Pro
- J5 (2016)
- J7 (2016)
- J7 Prime
It’s believed the update will occur by the 2017 second quarter. It’s all just speculation for now. Nothing official has been announced.
The Android 7.0 Nougat is often called Android N for short. It first got released in August for the Nexus 5 and 6 models with various features that included a better User Interface. It allows people to multi-task and has much better notifications.
The one surefire thing is the other smartphones are going to have a difficult time besting the Samsung J7 (2016), and with the Nougat Samsung update still in the works, its users will have to keep hoping and wishing their time comes soon enough for the new firmware.
