The Chinese tech giant has big plans for its future as it is already preparing to roll out an Android 7.0 Nougat device for its popular Axon 7 smartphone and fans couldn’t be more excited for their future plans regarding other mid-range orientated devices.

ZTE is preparing to update one of its less expensive devices, namely the ZTE ZMax Pro which is available in stores for about $99. The program will only be made available for those who own the device as well as a registration on ZTE’s Z-Community.

Information regarding their name, email and phone number will be needed for the process to be complete as well as their agreement to use the ZTE debugging tool while using the beta version of the operating system on their ZTE ZMax Pro.

This update is only available within the United States for those who own a ZTE ZMax Pro smartphone and bear in mind that not everyone who registers on the Z-Community will be accepted for the beta program. We are however glad to see that the Chinese tech giant is making some interesting moves that none of their direct competitors are willing to make regarding upgrading affordable devices.

The ZTE ZMax Pro is available at a dirt cheap price considering its amazing specs which put it in the mid-range device market.  It comes equipped with a massive 6 inch FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Camera wise it sports a 13 megapixel back snapper which comes with LED Flash and an autofocus option and a 5 megapixel front lens which is great for taking selfies and video calls. The whole device is powered by an octa-core processor which clocks at 1.5GHz.

Not only is this device dirt cheap for what it offers but it also includes some interesting features such as an expandable memory by up to 256GB by MicroSD as well as a fingerprint sensor which runs extremely smooth and fast and Bluetooth 4.1

ZTE is surely to be an interesting competitor in the smartphone market as the Chinese tech giant is manufacturing devices which have no competitor when it comes to pricing in comparison with what the device can offer in terms of performance and design.

The beta project for ZMAX PRO expressed through this Z-Community thread – – is to help enhance the current software on the device.  While we do not have any plans to push Android Nougat to the ZMAX PRO right now, we continue to seek feedback from consumers on all of our devices so we can enhance the user experience, which is what we are doing here.
