In the past weeks, the internet has offered many rumors regarding Lenovo’s upcoming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. A press render of the latter has leaked on Thursday, and previously, images of it have surfaced on the Internet. Reports claim that both devices will be unveiled at MWC 2017, which will kick off on February 26, in Barcelona.
CNET has reported that Lenovo has sent out invites for the upcoming event, which contain the image of a Moto device that has the shape of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia. Also, at the bottom of the invite there’s a tagline that reads “’Hello Moto”. Unfortunately, Lenovo hasn’t offered more information about its presence at MWC, and it didn’t confirm that it will bring the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, but there are speculations that the company is planning to unveil them.
The specs of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have leaked online and it seems that both devices will sport a 5.5-inch full-HD display and a 5MP front facing camera. The Moto G5 will have a 13MP rear camera, while the Moto G5 Plus will receive a slightly better primary camera with a higher resolution of 16MP. Also, the Moto G5 Plus is expected to pack an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor that will be backed by 4GB of RAM and it will support an internal memory of 32GB. Rumors say that the battery will have a capacity of 3080mAh, while leaked renders have revealed a circular camera panel on the (silver) back and an “M” logo sitting below it, and a fingerprint scanner at the front.
It is known that Lenovo has a Moto Mods program, allowing owners of the Moto Z series to add modular accessories and customize their devices the way they want. They can change the back plate, couple it with an insta-share projector, JBL SoundBoost speaker etc. At MWC 2017 are expected to be unveiled more Moto Mods.
