The latest update for YouTube app on iOS increases the maximum resolution on the 4.7-inch iPhones up to 1440p resolution and on the 4-inch iPhones up to 1080p. Another feature that will surely help rising stars to be promoted on the platform is named “On The Rise” and for starters, it will be available in the US.

In 2015, Apple has released the first iPhone phablet with a 5.5-inch screen and YouTube offered the 1440p option for a while, but the other iPhone models were stuck at 720p. Thanks to the latest update, the iPhone 4.7-inch can now play 1440p resolution videos, while the smaller iPhone 4-inch will display 1080p resolution videos. Although there are many new Android phones that have displays supporting 1440p60 videos, YouTube app for iOS has limited the resolution for 60fps videos to 1080p.

Also, let’s not forget that a few days ago, Google has updated its iOS app (version 22.0.0) and now it instantly plays YouTube videos from cards in users’ feed without needing to open the application or a new web page. But these aren’t the only news we bring to you about YouTube. There’s a new feature that will highlight talented users and it will be like a tweak to “Trending” heading. Each week, in the new section will be displayed two content creators and two musical artists, but in order to be featured, these rising stars must have at least 1,000 subscribers. Also, there are other selections criteria such as view count, average and total watch time, but those who will be chosen to be displayed in the Trending heading for a full day will receive a badge saying “Creator On The Rise” or “Artist On The Rise”.

Many YouTubers are dreaming to build a strong reputation on this platform and they needed a boost, but they will need to work harder if they want to be featured. The 1,000 subscribers may be hard to achieve, but not impossible, so if you want to become popular, post only high quality videos that people like to watch.
