Sharing is caring!

It seems the WhatsApp application for Android OS has finally received the GIF support. In addition, the WhatsApp’s media sharing limit has been increased from 10MB to 30MB, which will surely please a good amount of users that wanted to share high-quality photos within the application. We remind you that the GIF support has been added to the WhatsApp application for iOS back in November, 2016.

We remind you that until now the Android users were able to send and receive GIFs via the WhatsApp application only if they had them stored on their devices. Well, from now on, users will be able to access the Gyphy library right within the application and send them to their friends. The new GIF icon will appear when you tap on the emoji icon that’s located next to the text bar.

As we’ve told you above, the WhatsApp iOS version has received this option in November, 2016 and everyone was expecting it to be released for the Android platform also. Even if it took a while for the developers to successfully bring the new feature to Android, it is finally here and you can now start using it without any problems on your handset.

Some new rumors are suggesting that the WhatsApp developers are currently working on a new “Status” tab update, which will allow you to share stories (a feature that’s available on Snapchat). It seems that this new feature will allow users to see how many of their friends have seen the Stories. Likewise on Snapchat, these Stories will probably disappear after 24 hours.
