According to some new reports, the Android Nougat will finally be released for the Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets on January 17, 2017. Some screenshots that ANdroidSoul blog has revealed indicate that the update will be released for the European version of Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) on the mentioned date.

It’s not yet sure if the Android Nougat update will be released for the Galaxy S7 handsets in other markets, but it is believed that a global rollout should start soon after the European models.

The new build G935FXXU1DPLR comes with the Android Nougat software along with the Google’s security patch that has been released in January 2017. The soak test clearly shows that the official Android Nougat will be released for the Galaxy S7 soon, but it has not been confirmed when this will happen.

It is good to know that most Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be updated directly to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, while a few of them, such as the Vodafone Australia or Verizon models will update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Will Receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat in Q2 2017

The Android 7.0 Nougat has already been released for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus devices. Now, everyone is waiting for the Android 7.1.1 Nougat to be released for the mentioned devices, but it seems that it will take a while until that will happen.

Unfortunately, there is no official release date when the new operating system will be released for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, but if the rumors prove to be right, this will happen sometime in the second quarter of 2017.

We should mention that the current build number is NPJ25.93-11 and it is compatible with both devices. However, we should mention that the update needs to be installed only on supported models Moto G4 handsets that come with a model number of XT1624 and Moto G4 Plus handsets with a model number of XT1643.
