As Amazon is rapidly establishing dominance when it comes to voice assistants with its Alexa which is integrated in devices such as smart TVs, refrigerators and recently vehicles, Huawei made the first smartphone which comes with the app pre-installed on their Mate 9.
The Mate 9 is an outstanding device overall with a brilliant camera borrowed from Huawei’s P9 sporting a dual sensor build which can change the focus of the image after it was shot by tapping parts of the foreground and background. Its camera is comprised of a 20 megapixel monochrome and 12 megapixel RGB sensors which work in unison to deliver outstanding images. The device’s frontal camera was also not neglected as it comes with a 8 megapixel snapper for incredible selfies and video calls.
Its design is also impressive as it comes equipped with a 5.9 inch 1080p screen powered by Huawei’s homegrown Kirin 960 chip paired with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable internal storage which can go as up as 256 GB.
Huawei’s flagship device combines the best of both worlds from devices like the Mate 8 as it has its outstanding big screen and large battery and P9’s camera build. Huawei Mate 9 comes straight out of the factory with Android 7.0 Nougat tweaked by EMUI 5.0 and is considered to have everything that a smartphone users wants in a device.
Its main competitor is regarded to be the iPhone 7 Plus which comes with a bigger price tag and smaller display. The Mate 9’s bezels are also smaller and according to some tech experts, it is the better device to purchase. This year is going to be a revolutionary one for smartphone manufacturers and we can only sit and wait to see what it has to offer.
