The latest beta version of Opera Mini browser is 22.0.2254.111975 and it was released yesterday for Android devices. According to the change-log, it comes with various performance, stability and usability improvements, as well as changes to the Material Design, and the installation file has 3.93MB in size.

When you’ll install Opera Mini browser for the first time, it will ask permission to access the camera, flashlight, information about networks, precise location, the vibrator, to read your contacts data, to read from external storage, to write to external storage, to install shortcut in Launcher, to open network sockets, to perform I/O operations over NFC and it will want to prevent processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Opera Mini can be installed on Android devices running on version 2.3 and up, and it’s ideal for users with limited mobile data plans, as it will use up to 90% less data compared to other web browsers, but at the same time, it’s very fast and it offers a superior browsing experience. This browser will allow you to

  •  Customize your layout, so you will be able to choose between three different looks;
  •  Track your data savings and see how much data you use;
  •  Sync and share your bookmarks, which means that when you return home and open your computer, you will have access to your favorite bookmarks from your phone. Also, you will have the possibility to share your favorites to your friends, using social-network applications;
  •  Switch between search engines (Yahoo!, Google, Search Amazon, eBay, IMDB or other search engines that you’ll add);
  •  Manage your tabs easily. You’ll open a tab by simply tapping it, or you’ll remove one with a swipe;
  •  Save your favorite sites, by tapping plus button on the combined address and search bar. The site will be saved to Opera Mini’s Speed Dial start page and you’ll add it your mobile bookmarks;
  •  Browse news with the Discover feature, so you can be up to date with the newest trending articles.
