A lot of smartphone users want to get their hands on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat. What they do not know is that it will depend on the manufacturer if they are going to release it or not for a particular device.

Users of smartphones such as the Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Pixel C are excited to know when they are going to receive this update. It can be recalled that the update for Android 7.1 Nougat are only intended for the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL phones.

In a separate update, it seems that Google is going to roll out this update for the older Nexus smartphones as well. In fact, Google has reportedly made the update preview for the Nexus 6P, Pixel C tablet, and Nexus 5X.

The promise made by Google regarding the update on Android operating system was indeed fulfilled in October. However, many Nexus smartphones are still living in the dark and looking forward to this update to go their way soon enough.

According to reports, users of Nexus 9, Nexus 6, Android One, and Nexus Player devices will likewise receive the Android Nougat update. In a recent report, it was greatly anticipated that the latest Android 7.1 Nougat would come before the year 2016 will end. However, a number of weeks have already passed without any update yet.

It was rumored though that the upcoming update for Nexus devices is going to cause some problems for other smartphone owners. Thus, it will be a bad decision that Google has only considered their own devices to receive the most recent update.

Accordingly, a petition demanding Google to include other brands in the most recent Android update was made by an Italian smartphone user. He claimed that Google is clearly showing some bias, prioritizing their own Pixel and Nexus devices.

As the update goes, Nexus devices will be able to gain features included in the Pixel and Pixel XL, which include inclusive GIF keyboard and emoji. It was being reported earlier that Google has created counterparts to its male emoji. Thus, the Android 7.1 Nougat update will allow users to text emojis of female doctors or astronauts, in addition to other career-oriented emoji.

Aside from the fun messaging features, Android Nougat comes with app shortcuts that can be seen on the home screen. At the same time, devices will be able to see the lock screens and notifications the moment when the phone is being picked up or tapped using a couple of fingers.

All updates for Android Nougat has included all these in the Android 7.1.1 beta, but the final release will roll out several weeks after. This will include devices such as the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel C, Pixel XL, and General Mobile 4G.

If you are one of the owners of Nexus 6 or Nexus 9, then you should rejoice because the latest Android software version is coming to town.
