Many people are looking forward to the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Motorola devices. However, in August 2016, the latest Android version was released only for Nexus tablets and smartphones. In December though, Motorola was quick to release the Android Nougat update for its devices, including the Moto G4 and the Moto Z, among other models.

Although the Android 7.0 Nougat has finally arrived, it is not available for everybody. Nevertheless, Motorola has made an extensive list of devices to have the update. It can be recalled that Motorola was among the first to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The same can be said of the Nougat update that is similarly happening to other smartphone brands.

The company is still aiming to deliver timely and fast updates for smartphone users. Thus, owners can keep track of the upcoming or current updates from the official website of Motorola. The company recently confirmed about the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Moto Z back in November. Thus, it has done the same with the Motorola Moto G4 and G4 Plus.

The expected arrival of the latest Android version is not known well, as it was already anticipated before 2016 will end. In fact, some updates mention the fourth quarter of last year was the timeframe. Rumor has it that the Nougat update will come to the Moto G4 and G4 Plus in January 2017.

In November 2016, many users of the Moto Z were starting to enjoy the Android 7.0 Nougat version. After a few days, there was a confirmation for both Verizon and Motorola to get the update.

Most Motorola smartphone users are likely to see Android 7.0 Nougat first, which include the Moto Z Force DROID, Moto Z, Moto G4, and Moto Z Play. The company will then move on to other smartphones after updating the said devices. Although most of the smartphones are considered new as a requirement for updating to the latest version, the 2015 Moto G is not going to have it. This means that a smartphone that didn’t even reach 2 years old would not get the update.
