2017 is finally here and it seems that it will be a great year for video games, as according to reports a team is already working on a GTA 5 MOD that will finally bring the GTA 4 map to the GTA 5. The mod team is called OpenIV and it has announced that “Today we are proud to announce the project we worked on since initial GTA V release. Liberty City is finally coming into GTA V in all its glory”.
The modding crew has mentioned that this Liberty City MOD will not replace Los Santos or Blaine County, but instead it will appear across the sea. Thanks to the power of OpenIV and openFormats, the modding crew has added that it was able to bring the Liberty City into the GTA V map.
In order to access the Liberty City, you will need a copy of the GTA IV. A converter will be used to extract and convert the game world for use in GTA 5. Keep in mind that this DLC pack will create a single player Liberty City map, which will be installed in the GTA 5 game.
Unfortunately, it’s not yet sure when exactly the OpenIV modding team will finish this project, but according to reports, it is not far from succeeding. Below you can watch a trailer of this upcoming GTA 5 MOD:
As you can see in the trailer, after flying over the sea for a few minutes you will get to the new location: Liberty City. The bad news is that you will be able to play this game only in single player mode, so if you want to play it with your friends, you will not be able to do this.
What are your thoughts about the new GTA 5 MOD that the OpenIV team is currently working on?
