A couple of devices get head-to-head this time to prove which one is superior to the other. With this comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 defends its features against the Asus ZenFone 3. Here are some of the notable specifications of both devices that you might not be aware of just yet.

Design & Display Features

Both devices have fingerprint sensor capabilities, only available on most high-end devices. Identically, they also have a screen size of 5.5 inches each, a resolution of 1080x1920p each, and pixel density of 401ppi each.

The only difference is the screen technology, which the ZenFone 3 uses Super IPS + LCD, while the Note 3 has an IPS LCD.

Camera Features

In terms of camera resolution, the ZenFone 3 might be a bit superior to the Note 3. Basically, the ZenFone 3 has a 16MP compared to the 13MP resolution of the Note 3. At the same time, the front-facing shooter of ZenFone 3 has an 8MP resolution versus the 5MP of the Note 3.

Hardware Features

The system chip of both devices differ, as the ZenFone 3 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 8953, while the Note 3 uses the MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795. Both also have 2000 MHz, ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit octa-core processors. Graphics processor on both devices also vary, as the ZenFone 3 uses Adreno 506 versus the PowerVR G6200 of the Note 3.

In terms of built-in storage, the Zenfone 3 is superior at 64GB of space, compared with the 32GB of storage of the Redmi Note 3. Both devices can have expandable memory, which extends up to 128GB. The battery on both devices are different but the Note 3 has a better capacity of 4,000mAh, compared to 3,000mAh on the ZenFone 3.

Connectivity Features

Both devices have a couple of SIM slots. Likewise, the USB type is 3.0 on the Zenfone, while the Redmi Note 3 has a 2.0 type. The connector for these devices are different as the Zenfone uses the USB Type-C, which is the reversible type, unlike the Note 3, which only uses the micro USB type.


In terms of security, both of these gadgets features fingerprint scanners on the back panels. Likewise, the Zenfone 3 provides an immersive audio experience as a result of the 5-magnet speaker construction, with its USB Type C port that should ensure amazing transfer speeds.

It can be said that the Asus Zenfone 3 is almost twice as expensive as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. But, it is considered a premium smartphone available at mid-range price. With a tough competition these days, there should be something about this device that makes it an indispensable product. On the other hand, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is offered at a very reasonable price, but it has a premium look that can compete with any mid-range smartphone out there. With a very tough competition over several leading brands, it should be cool to consider a few options that shouldn’t break the bank.
