Nokia is going to be the most anticipated manufacturer to launch a smartphone in 2017. They haven’t announced any plans regarding their flagship device’s specs and features but despite this some rumors have surfaced and they are more than interesting.

Price and Release Date

The all-new Nokia Edge is said to come equipped with a price tag which ranges between $600 and $900. It will see the light of day somewhere between April and May. Its most fierce competition, Samsung’s Galaxy 8 is said to be evaluated at $810. It is believed that Samsung will unveil their device somewhere in April. The launch date of Samsung’s device could be however postponed as they are to make sure there are no bugs or issues as they were encountered in the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

Design

No rumors were stated as of how the new Nokia Edge will be like. Some believed to be the end-model of Nokia’s devices. It shouldn’t look plain at all and it should present itself looking extremely futuristic if they want to make a comeback on the smartphone market.

As the Galaxy S8 goes it is said it will follow Apple’s lead and ditch the 3.5mm jack and use a USB Type-C port for connecting headphones instead. It is believed to have curved edges and have almost no bezels. There are some voices which also state it will have a dedicated button to launch its virtual assistant.

Display

Nokia’s Edge is said to have a 5.5 inch display equipped with 2k resolution. Samsung is going to equip their devices with two variants that of 5.1 and 5.5 inch AMOLED screens. They are also said to be working on a version which packs a whopping 6 inch display.

Hardware

In terms of storage space the Nokia Edge is said to feature 32GB and 3GB of RAM.  Samsung is going to blow off the market with rumored 8GB of RAM. Camera wise, Nokia Edge will feature a 23MP snapper from Carl Zeiss. The Samsung on the other hand is expected to feature two rear cameras, one of 13MP and the other of 12MP. They are both expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chips and Samsung should have an Exynos powered variant which will only be available in India.
