Android 7.1.1 Nougat is the latest build for Google’s Android operating system. That means that every smartphone manufacturer in town is going to want a piece of it as it offers the best there is to offer in terms of Android. Since it’s the latest build, that should be pretty obvious.
Samsung’s Galaxy S7 smartphone has been ranked as one of the best smartphones of 2016, and its commercial success stands as testimony to its achievement. That being said, the S7 receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat is not something many would argue to debate. It is merely a question of when, since there aren’t that many 7.1.1 running devices at the moment. In fact, we can limit that list to the two new Google smartphones, Google Pixel and Pixel XL.
The latest Android update is currently being tested by Samsung in beta so that all the kinks and problems can be worked out before the software is released to the masses. A very serious problem that plagued previous beta iterations of Android 7.1.1 on the Galaxy S7 was the reboot issue. The reboot problem consists of the phone randomly turning off then back on for no apparent motive.
This would happen whenever the device saw it fit thus resulting in a very clunky and unpleasant testing phase for those within Samsung’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta testing program.
The reboot anomaly was fixed by Samsung in the latest Nougat build which can be acquired immediately by those residing in either Korea or the United Kingdom and have 301 MB of free space at their disposal.
There were also other points of interested in the patch such as lockscreen notification panel opacity. Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Samsung Galaxy S7 is currently in its fifth beta run.
