In addition to adding the MIUI 8.1.1 for the Redmi Note 3 which brings a lot of improvements and tweaks in terms of the device’s overall performance, the guys from Xiaomi released an even bigger update that satisfied a lot of customers.

They’ve issued a global update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to its Redmi Note 3 devices. It has been planned since the phone was released as slow but steady developments were made to make sure that upon its release it will not encounter any issues whatsoever.

A beta version was made available for those who wanted to try it out and at the same time report bugs which messed with the OS. This update comes with improvements regarding its tailor made interface that goes by the name of MIUI as well as features that were not to be found in Android Lollipop.

This update was planned to be released sooner but it unfortunately got delayed as Xiaomi targeted their focus on their flagship devices which will receive the all new Android 7.0 Nougat the months to come. Being known to lag when it comes to issuing updates for their phones that do not bear the flagship status, the guys from Xiaomi will keep supporting its lower end devices by heavily updating their MIUI versions.

The phone will be updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow via automatic process known as Over The Air update. If you prefer to have your phone update manually, just enter the in-built Updater app.

Packing a whopping 1.3 GB worth of internal storage space this update will mean that Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 will enter the middle-of-the-pack device category and is surely an interesting choice to have as it enjoys a lot of popularity from users over the world.
