Being the most acclaimed game of 2016, Blizzard’s Overwatch excited millions of fans and attracted a huge player games. Recently Blizzard has teased us with what they are planning for 2017 regarding their game with “multiple new heroes”, new maps, custom game server browser and more communication options.
Having disappointed with Mei’s legendary skin they are sure to bring something new and exciting to the table in 2017 as their competition is sure to be harsh. If they want to stay at the top of the pyramid they’ve promised a big list of changes and updates.
A handful of new heroes will become available in 2017 and at the same time Blizzard announced that its Overwatch division is constantly working on new content despite some of it might actually be never released.
One of the most popular heroes in Overwatch, namely Genji has gone through a similar process where the team has been working on him for about a year and a half prior to his release. It took them so long because it was made with the concept of being perfect, and boy did they get everything right.
Kaplan states that one of their in-the-making heroes is going through a Genji-type process and is now looking very promising. No further details were announced regarding a future champion update and we can only expect something great from the gaming behemoth.
Early 2017 is going to come with a new Oasis map which was teased at Blizzcon. However, this is not the only map which is in the making and considering that a new Arcade Mode is being working on, new maps are surely to come out.
Game Server Browser and Communication Options
A custom game browser is set to arrive with 2017 as players will be able to create custom games that are viewable by other players. This was a highly-asked for feature and got fans highly entertained when it was announced.
Communication wise, Overwatch will feature a big change in 2017 as players will access up to four voice lines and the same number of emotes. Programmable key bindings will be assigned to change these voice commands and emotes if you are wondering how to trigger them separately.
