While Chrome remains on top with the most usage share of web browsers in all platforms, UC Browser remains one of the contenders when it comes to mobile web browsers. Developed by the Alibaba Group, a Chinese e-commerce company and the parent organization of the world’s largest online business-to-business trading platform for small-scale industries. This company also came out with the web-browser for both Android and desktops platforms.
Launched in 2004, UC Browser was first designed for J2ME application and now, it is supported by a variety of platforms that include iOS, Windows Phone, Symbian, Java ME, Blackberry and Android. But among the platforms, Android has the largest user share for UC with 300 million downloads out of the 500 million users of Google’s Android OS.
