OnePlus took a gamble and released the OnePlus 3T only 6 months after the release of the popular OnePlus 3 flagship. The OnePlus 3T is an improved version of the previous handset that OnePlus has released and it seems that the sales are going pretty well for it as we speak.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus 3T was released with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and it seems that an Android 7.0 Nougat update is planned to be released for this handset sometime in the future. However, if you can’t wait too much for this new Android version, you can now install a custom ROM that has just been released for it.

Keep in mind that the OxygenOS’s Nougat build is still in BETA phase, which means that it will take a while until the new Android version will be released for the aforementioned device.

Android 7.0 Nougat CM14.1 ROM For OnePlus 3T

A XDA Member that has the name PeterCxy, has just ported the CyanogenMod 14.1 for OnePlus 3. We should mention that the CyanogenMod 14.1 is based on Android 7.0 Nougat, so this means that you will finally be able to check out the new features of the Android Nougat on your handset.

HINT: Keep in mind that this is an unofficial build, so you could find bugs and issues while using it on your OnePlus 3T handset.

According to the developer, some known issues are the front camera that’s able to take photos only at 4MP instead of 16MP using the stock software. At the same time, the developer claims that there might be some problems with the LTE connection on some mobile networks.

If you want to install Android 7.0 Nougat CM14.1 ROM on your OnePlus 3T we suggest to use a custom recovery application such as TWRP and make sure that you backup all the important information before you wipe entirely your handset.
