As of now, most of the smartphone manufacturers are beginning to update their flagship devices with Android 7.0 Nougat which was issued this year. Just like other brands, the Chinese giant Huawei has begun updating the P9 and Mate 8 to the latest Android operating system. This update however has only started in China and will eventually continue among all users of these respective smartphones.

Huawei has not issued an official statement regarding updating to Nougat OTA for these flagships in India. The update for P9 and Mate 8 is expected to hit India somewhere starting next year.



Huawei owners in China however can search for an update on the firmware either by checking if the Android 7.0 Nougat update is on display onscreen or can choose to manually enter the Settings menu, tapping on About Phone and then manually searching for a Software update if it’s ready to be installed on the device. The Huawei Mate 8 update will be a B552 version respectively B352 if you own a Huawei P9.
