A few months after Apple released iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, rumors about the launching of yet another lineup of smartphones from the tech giant are already out. According to a Japanese blog, the next iPhone generation will be called iPhone 7s, if not iPhone 8.

Fans are now excited about what to expect from this upcoming phone which is said to be launched in 2017. While there might not be big changes to be seen on the physical design, there can be some improvements in the software and hardware.

Design

If rumors are correct, the iPhone 7s will still have the same design as its predecessor. And if this is true, this will not be the first time. While there might be a larger screen, it is said that this model will stick with the aluminum design of the iPhone 7. In terms of display, the previous iPhone models sport IPS LCDs like the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch LED -backlit IPS LCD with 1,920 x 1,080 at 401 ppi while it is covered with ion-strengthened oleophobic coating.

For the next generation of iPhone, it is more likely to sport an OLED screen. Aside from this, there will be three models to be released next year. These will include an updated 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models designed with IPS LCD as well as the larger premium model with the OLED display, complete with a glass casing. However, all of these are merely speculations.

If rumors are to be believed, Apple is working on major changes with the iPhone 7s. There are talks on a complete overhaul on the back cover which is apparently going to be made of glass. The OLED display, on the other hand, will do away with bezel and will have a curved shape. Moreover, charging will now be done without using a cable. If wireless charging will materialize, this can be one of the best features worth waiting for.

Other features that are to be expected from the upcoming iPhone offering in 2017 include a faster A11 processor chipset, edge-to-edge display, dual rear-camera with Touch ID integrated in the display. There are also talks that Apple will be doing away with the Home button.

Color

For so many years, Apple devices have been in subdued tones like silver and black. When iPhone 6 and the later iPhones came out, other colors were introduced, including Jet Black, Gold and Rose Gold. With the upcoming iPhone 7s, there is a big chance that a new color will be introduced.

If this pushes through, potential owners can be going home with red iPhones. This can be a bold move for Apple but knowing them, they never stop to surprise the public. Besides, red is an elegant color and women will definitely love this vibrant choice.

As early as 2015, there had already been rumors about an iPhone 7s but the features then did not include an OLED display and the new red color. However, it speculated a 24MP camera, among other things. All just have to wait for 2017 in case these iPhone 7s features will be confirmed.
