If you don’t usually install the latest WhatsApp BETA version on your Android device then you should know that you’ve been missing a good amount of GIFs. The GIFs were available since November for the iOS users, but they were in BETA testing for several months on the Android OS.

Well, it seems that the developers have finally decided to bring GIFs to the public. In other words, if you now install the latest WhatsApp stable version that’s available on the Google Play Store, you will have access to GIFs.

The new GIF tab that’s added to the application is found next to the Emoji tab along with a “Search” button that will allow you to search for GIFs related to your search term.

Once you find the GIF that you want to send to your friend, you will just need to select it and send it to your friends (keep in mind that you can also add a caption to it). The GIF search function is powered by Tenor and you will be able to preview the GIF that you’re about to send. You can also send a GIF that you’ve saved on your mobile device by tapping on the “attach” button.

GIFs are very popular nowadays and they are used by almost anyone that sends messages on any messaging application. It is good to know that, currently, the developers are testing out the two-factor authentication, which is expected to be released for public sometime in the near future.

The WhatsApp application is continuously improving and it needs to do so in order to keep its users satisfied. Currently, WhatsApp is one of the most used mobile messaging applications out there and the developers are trying very hard to keep it that way.

Are you using WhatsApp on your mobile device? What are your thoughts about GIFs?
