Sharing is caring!

When it comes to instant communication solutions, there is no denying that WhatsApp is one of the best apps you could download in your phone-period. The range of features available make the whole experience something users look forward to repeating and the amount of accessibility it provides helps users in their daily tasks consistently.

Recently, WhatsApp released a video calling feature that was really well received, with a lot of people asking for something of that nature for a long time. It’s great to see that WhatsApp didn’t mess up the implementation of that feature, but also that it’s not slacking and continues to bring us updates which contain even more features.

Edit pictures

Taking a page out of Snapchat’s book, WhatsApp is looking to provide more customization options with its new picture editing feature.

In the same style, users are able to draw and complement with text whenever they take a photo. This brings WhatsApp closer to its competitors in terms of features and tightens the gap between apps.

Stream video

This new feature allows users to start watching a video while it’s still downloading. Previously, they would have had to wait until the full video had been downloaded to local storage.

Now, that’s no longer the case. A button will present the option of streaming the video during its download and by the time the download is finished, you might have even finished watching it.

Security Improvements

Last but most definitely not least is WhatsApp’s new encryption feature which provides a end-to-end encryption for messages. This makes it difficult for people to steal personal information from WhatsApp messages since the only people with the encryption keys are the sender and the receiver (or receivers, in case of group chats).

With these new features, WhatsApp maintains its status as messaging app giant among mobile consumers.
