Samsung has released its Galaxy A5 (2016) in December 2015, while the Huawei Honor 8 has hit the stores in July 2016. Today we will compare these handsets and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.

Designs

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) measures 144.8x71x7.3mm and weights 155 grams, while the Huawei Honor 8 is thicker and slightly lighter, measuring 145.5x71x7.5mm and weighting 153 grams. Both devices have a glass and metal design, but the Honor 8 has a fingerprint scanner on its back and no physical button on the front panel, while the Galaxy A5 (2016) has the fingerprint scanner hidden inside the home button.

Displays

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) features a super AMOLED display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi. The Huawei Honor 8 has a LTPS display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 423 ppi.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) comes in two variants, as follows:

The Huawei Honor 8 features a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A72 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) has been released with an internal storage of 16GB, while the Huawei Honor 8 comes in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. Both handsets have a microSD card slot that supports memory cards up to 256GB.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) sports a primary camera of 13MP that features OIS, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Huawei Honor 8 has a dual primary camera of 12MP that features laser autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) is powered by a non-removable battery of 2900 mAh, which is slightly less powerful than the 3000 mAh non-removable battery that the Huawei Honor 8 has.
