We have some good news for all NVIDIA fans, as according to new reports, the company is planning to launch its mobile GeoForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti chips at the CES 2017 event.

Taiwanese insiders are suggesting that more affordable graphics cards for gaming laptops are just around the corner. These new video cards will be able to match the desktop’s performance.

It seems that a number of NVIDIA partners have already signed up to showcase their latest laptop devices at the Consumer Electronics Show, including Lenovo, MSI, Gigabyte and Asus.

Currently, all gaming laptops that come with a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 graphics card are quite expensive and we think that most of the gamers are waiting for them to get a big discount sometime in the future. However, it seems that the laptops that will come with the GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 Ti graphics card will be more affordable and it will be priced somewhere between $900-$1300.

We remind you that the GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti desktop variants have been released over a month ago and it seems that they have received positive feedback from consumers.

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is sold for only $139, but its performance is almost as good as of GTX 970’s. On the other hand, the GTX 1050 is the budget option and it costs $109 and, as expected, it comes with an inferior performance when compared to the Ti version. It is good to know that according to some leaked benchmarks, the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is 10% better than the NVIDIA GTX 970M, so this is quite impressive.

With a bit of luck next year we will be able to see some pretty decent gaming laptops at a very affordable price.
