Will there ever be a Candy Crush Saga 2? Game developer King is awfully quiet about the next franchise of the top-grossing game app. This leaves fans wondering about the future of Candy Crush. Although spin offs keep people playing the game almost non-stop, nothing compares to a full-on installment. Well, maybe we’ll just content ourselves with the Candy Crush game show.

Have you ever wondered what it will be like to play Candy Crush in real life? Wonder, no more. With its continuously growing popularity, thanks to sequels, such as Candy Crush Soda Saga and Candy Crush Jelly Saga, the popular mobile game app is now heading its way to US television.

Game developer King explains, “Teams of two people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer Candy Crush and be crowned the champions”.

It won’t be anything like the mobile app you’re used to, but the core concept is the same. The combination of physical agility, however, would remind you of popular game shows, such as Fear Factor and Wipeout. We can only hope it won’t be as physically demanding. But, considering that the same producer, Matt Kunitz, will be working on the Candy Crush project, expect the unexpected.

The Candy Crush game show will come to CBS. President of CBS Entertainment, Glenn Geller, said that the company is excited to partner with the game developer King and Lionsgate for the TV adaptation of one of the most popular and entertaining game franchises for TV. “We know the ‘rush’ of advancing to the next level of the game,” he added. This is why they made Candy Crush available to its passionate fan base, so they can watch the game at home and play along.

Not exactly the news you were hoping for, but it’s better than the radio silence King has subjected us with regards to Candy Crush Saga 2.

In the meantime, check out great replacements for Candy Crush.
