The new Surface Book is the most powerful Microsoft made laptop and it was unveiled by Microsoft’s Vice President Panos Panay at the Microsoft event that took place in New York on October 6th. The new laptop will hit retailer’s shelves in the first quarter of 2017. The device might go head to head with Microsoft’s other laptop, the Surface Pro 5. The devices are equipped with similar hardware, the only major difference being the Intel Kaby Lake processor that the Surface Pro 5 will sport. Hardware

Microsoft’s Surface Book i7 is very fast and it provide its user with great performances because it’s powered by the latest Intel Skylake processor. The battery life is impressive as well, Microsoft even stated that the laptop will be able to run 16 hour of video playback before the battery dies.

The Surface Pro is rumored to be powered by the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor which will make the laptop significantly faster than the Surface Book. The battery life will be also increased to last up to 24 hours of video playback.

Display

The Surface Book i7 sports a classic and professional design that’s paired with a 13.5 inch display which supports 2K and 4K resolutions. The laptop weighs only 3.7 pounds. The Surface Pro 5 will have a similar 13.5 inch display and tech experts are speculating that it will run 4K resolution videos, and this will give the laptop an edge over its competitor.

Price

The 1TB Surface Book i7 can be acquired for the huge price of $3,299 while the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be priced around $899. The Surface Book i7 is way more expensive because its focused towards customers that work on their laptops and need their laptop to perform without any problems, on the hand the Surface Pro 5 is designed for more casual laptop users.
