Although the tweet is a bit cryptic, with no direct hint about the latest OnePlus smartphone, people are quick to speculate that the Chinese smartphone maker will soon announce its next phone on November 15.

Rumor has it that the next OnePlus smartphone will be named OnePlus 3T, considering that it will be an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3 mobile phone. With just the processor confirmed, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 (2.35GHz), the rest of the specs are based on rumors. These include 8GB of RAM, a fast-charging battery of 3,500 mAh to 4,000 mAh, and updated Android skin.

Based on these specs, people expect the new OnePlus phone to offer better features than its predecessors.

Improved performance

Snapdragon 821 is the same chipset used with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the Nexus phones 2016 Edition. This pretty much says a lot about its capacity and reliability. Clocked at 2.35 GHz, it will work faster and will contribute to an improved battery life. Snappy is definitely a fitting description to the Snapdragon 821 chipset.

VR ready

Because the Snapdragon 821 chipset supports Daydream, Google’s VR platform, it is possible that the OnePlus 3T handset will be made compatible with Daydream. The new OnePlus phone is also said to share the same hardware requirements as the VR platform, which will make integration of the said feature easier. Should the Chinese company decide to make VR a part of the handset, it could be just a matter of tweaks.

Enhanced rear camera

OnePlus 3T is rumored to use the new Sony IMX398 camera sensor, which debuted 2 weeks ago. The sensor brings forward a large aperture of f/1.7 that delivers improved low-light performance and dual core autofocus, which is capable of taking great pictures of moving objects. If this camera sensor does make its way to the OnePlus 3T, the Chinese company is likely to outdo itself.

Android 7.0 Nougat

There are rumors that the new OnePlus phone will be shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat, which is great news for people who want to enjoy the many features that new Android OS has to offer, but have yet to manually flash CyanogenMod 14.1. If this is realized, the phone will likely be powered by the in-house OxygenOS, but based on Android 7.0, making it Nougat-based OxygenOS.

Faster performance, VR-ready, better camera sensor and Nougat OS, the OnePlus 3T is definitely something to look forward to. But with all these fancy features, fans should expect a higher price tag. You get what you pay for, after all. If the OnePlus 3, with Snapdragon 821 and OLED display, sold at less than $400, expect a price increase of anywhere from $80 to $100.

When will we see the OnePlus 3T on the market? If the announcement will be made on November 15, it is likely that the handset will be available for sale at the end of the month.
