A new WhatsApp version has been released for iPhones and it brings GIF support. It seems that there are more and more people who enjoy using GIFs in their chats and the developers of WhatsApp have understood that.

WhatsApp is a very popular application out there and since it has over 1 billion monthly active users, the developers had to bring this new feature, which is already available on other popular mobile messaging applications such as Facebook or Viber.

It is good to know that the WhatsApp version 2.16.15 must be installed on your iPhone in order to be able to access the GIFs. It is good to know that you can also create your own “GIF” by recording a video of up to six seconds.

Once you do this, you will be able to send the video or library by tapping the “+” button that’s located on the left part of the text box in WhatsApp. You will then notice an option on the top part of the screen that will allow you to send a recorded video or a GIF.

In addition, you can also send live photos via the WhatsApp application. If you are not sure yet what live photos mean, then you should know that these are short videos (audio included) that are created using the software, but your device needs to support the 3D touch feature or else you will not be able to create one.
