iOS 10 was released by Apple in summer and as expected, iPhone owners and the jailbreak community are already clamoring for the jailbreak tool for this upgrade. There are several big name developers who are always searching for bugs and challenging the security of the iOS firmware and the list include Pangu and TaiG. However, it has been more than a month and the people behind Pangu are still mum about the release of a full version of a working jailbreak tool.
Has the Chinese team, known to be one of the developers who deliver, giving up on the iOS 10 jaibreak?
It can be remembered that during conference in Shanghai months ago, they showed their demo of the tool but it was then still in the works. There is also the issue about the bug bounty program of Apple that aims to lure hackers not to exploit the zero day vulnerabilities of the iOS 10 but instead alert them of the holes so patches can be done.
Moreover, Apple is already talking about the iOS 10.2 and they have also come up with more recent updates to strengthen the security of iOS 10, making it harder for developers to enter the system. According to reports, this might have caused the delay unless Pangu really has no plans for a developing a jailbreak tool.
There is really no assurance for the exact release date of a jailbreak tool for iOS 10 from Pangu but until there is conformation from them, the rumors that the team has indeed abandoned their work completely. The last time the Chinese developer released a tool was the iOS 9.3.3 update.
However, this does not seem to be the case for other big players, like Luca Todesco, who released a video proving that he was able to develop an iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak tool for his iPhone 7 but will not be available for the public. Also, another developer is said to have done the same thing. So much for the iOS 10 jailbreak leaks. As for Pangu, the public just need to wait for more updates.
