Despite the global recall of Galaxy Note 7, rumors about the release date of Galaxy S8 are going around. Some speculators say that Korean Company, Samsung, might launch the next flagship of the Samsung S series in the earlier part of 2017, perhaps in February so as to make up for the losses it incurred with the failure of the Note 7 to stay in the market.
Conversely, there are other reports about the release date of the next model on the second quarter of next year due to some challenges faced by the manufacturer. But then again, the month of February is being eyed as the more tentative date the newest model will be available to the public and for quite a number of Samsung fans, this is the most appropriate time to do so since it still remains to be one of the most popular brands when it comes to smartphones and mobile devices.
It can be remembered that several months ago, Galaxy Note 7 was recalled and subsequently canceled because of instances of several units catching fire. Distribution and production were also put to a permanent hold. Having said that, the Galaxy S8 is expected to erase whatever doubts are in the minds of consumers. And whatever flaws and glitches Note 7 had, these will all be fixed and not be present in the upcoming device from Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Features
It has been confirmed that the S8 will have a very powerful AI assistant that can be at par with Siri. Some leaks also imply that the home button will not be included in the design but there will be two screen options, a large 5.7-inch and a larger 6.3-inch display, covered with Corning Gorrila Glass 5 and with no curves at the edges.
As for the camera features, there will be more likely a dual-lens camera, a30 MP rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing camera. The aperture will be larger than the smaller f/1.7 of S7 which will be a wide f/1.4. This allows for more light to enter for clearer and more detailed images. Moreover, it will also have an image stabilization system that helps in avoiding shaky videos and images.
For the other features, these include 6GB RAM, internal storage at 64GB and 128GB respectively, a powerful Snapdragon Qualcomm Octa-core 3.2GHz processor, 4G LTE, finger print and retina scanners, wireless charging and a mini-projector. There are also speculations that it can be a folding phone since Samsung is believed to be introducing a folding model in 2017. But this is not confirmed yet.
Anonymous sources also claim that Korean company, Samsung, will be testing the components starting in January and they expect to receive all the parts by February. Given the time table of the delivery of the supplies in bulk, some say that March is most likely the safest date of release.
Meanwhile, based on the previous release dates of the older Samsung phones, the interval is usually a year and is usually in February and March. If there will be no further delays and problems, the public can expect the release date of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus between February and March next year.
