It finally happened. After speculation, rumors, and hopes, Red Dead Redemption 2 was finally announced for the PS4 and the Xbox One, to be released sometime in 2017.

The name came as a surprise to some fans. While “Red Dead Redemption 2” was what a lot of people referred to the theorized game as, it is actually the third game in the Red Dead series. As a result, many people thought the next game might have a different Red Dead title, instead of following the previous game as a numbered sequel.

Nevertheless, it has been announced as Red Dead Redemption 2. So, besides its title, what do we know about it? Not much. Like its predecessor, it will be an open world action-adventure game in a western setting. It will be a single-player game, but it will have some sort of online multiplayer elements. Rockstar has yet to reveal the full details of that.

After the teaser trailer, some fans wonder if it will have multiple playable characters, instead of following a single character through the story. Would you like that, or would you prefer it to focus on one person?

Nothing has been revealed about the story so far. While its title suggests it’s a direct sequel to Red Dead Redemption, even that is unclear from the little we know. What sort of story are you hoping for?

Meanwhile, there has been a great deal of debate about whether or not it will come to the Nintendo Switch—although it seems less likely now, since the trailer was revealed on the same day as the Switch and didn’t name it a system it would appear on.

Online elements, playable characters, the story and its ties to the previous game, and the consoles it will appear on—what do you expect to happen with Red Dead Redemption in regards to these things? What are your hopes for the game in general?
