The LG G3 is too old to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update, being stuck with 6.0 Marshmallow, but talented hackers understood the desire of users who want to have access to the new features introduced by Google in its new operating system, and worked on many custom ROMS, but not all of them have reached the final form and they might come with glitches and features that are not working. However, if you’re one of the LG G3 owners who want to install Android 7 Nougat via a custom ROM, we recommend you EXPERIMENTAL][7.0_r1]AOSP 7.0 (Nougat).
This update comes with the following features: AOSP, all features of Nougat, Battery Saver profiles, Theme Support, Nougat 7.0 wallpaper, RAM Management, Manual Mode camera, Custom Ui and Gravity box support. The developer guarantees that WiFi, Audio, Camera, Bluetooth, Vibrator, H/W and MTP are working, but the Camcorder, RIL and sensors are broken and camera must capture one picture before adapting to the light.
Remember that this custom ROM works only for the LG G3 (D850), so don’t try to flash it on other device, because you will brick it. Also, you will need to install TWRP or CWM recovery, and make sure that the device has minimum 70% battery. The custom ROM can be downloaded from here, directly to your PC, then you’ll use a USB cable to connect your phone and copy the files to the root of SD card of your LG G3. After the files have been copied, turn off the phone and unplug it from PC, then enter Recovery Mode.
The next steps are to: wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, wipe cache partition, select backup data, then choose Install and go to the folder where you have saved the custom ROM. Tap the file to start the installation process and tap yes to confirm the installation. At the end, you should see a “Successfully updated” notification, and this is when you must return to the main menu and reboot the device. That’s it, your phone should run on Android 7.0 Nougat!
