The tablet didn’t make its appearance in September, proving that all rumors were false, but it seems that Galaxy Tab S3’s release date was delayed until the first quarter of 2017. The good news is that until next year, new rumors will begin to take shape and we’ll know for sure what specs and features this device will bring.
Tech Radar has posted a leaked picture of the Galaxy Tab S3, which suggests that the tablet will to be very similar to its predecessor. As expected, it will feature a home button below the display that will have a 4:3 ratio and the back will be made of plastic, but it’s not known how many variants of colors will be available.
Reliable sources have declared that the Galaxy S3 tablet will have a smaller model with an 8-inch display, while the larger model will measure 9.7-inch. The screens will use Samsung’s AMOLED technology and will support a resolution of 1536x 2048 pixels.
Early rumors suggested that inside the Tab S3 will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 3GB of RAM and that the smaller version will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery, while the larger tablet will feature a 5,870mAh battery. On the back of the tablet will be found an 8MP camera, while on the front will be placed a 2MP selfie camera.
Samsung already used the new USB-C design for its Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone, so it will be ready to bring it on the upcoming Tab S3 tablet, as well. Most likely, the tablet will come with Marshmallow out of the box, but in short time, it will be updated to Nougat.
However, it is known that the Tab S tablets are a premium line, and the pricing of the new models could be higher than usual (£319/£399 probably). It’s worth mentioning that the leaked model numbers of the two variants are SM-TB825 and SM-TB820.
