The internet has been full of teasers for the new Huawei device called the Mate 9. While no official announcement has been made, there has been a series of teasers, including commercials made by Huawei themselves, promoting the upcoming device.

The latest teaser from the company comes on Twitter, but it was posted from the official handle of Huawei’s Android skin, EMUI (Emotion UI). This has started a long list of speculations, out of which most popular is the one claiming that EMUI 5 will be featured on the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 device.

The previous version of the skin was built on the 6.0 version of Android, Android Marshmallow. The caption accompanying the EMUI 5 teaser specified that it was the company’s biggest evolution to date, also mentioning that it is beautiful.

Based on these teasers alone, the majority of Huawei enthusiasts have been hyped . They are hoping that the Mate 9 will improve on its predecessor, with rumors even flying about a possible Pro version of the device that might feature a curved screen. Fans are waiting to see if EMUI 5 will be featured on the new device, and if it will do for Android Nougat what EMUI 4 did for Android Marshmallow.

Some of the specifications that are believed to be featured on the new Huawei Mate 9 are 6 GB of RAM, an octa-core Kirin processor that runs on 64 bits, multiple storage options and a 5.9 inch screen that uses QHD technology and features a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440.

There are also talks about a fingerprint scanning device that would be featured somewhere on the back of the handset. With specifications like these, it’s no wonder that people are so eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new device, and possibly of the new Android skin.
