WhatsApp, a cross-platform messaging app, is one of the most popular ways to get connected to friends and family online. This messenger app allows users to chat, create chat groups, send videos and images as well as video calls.

Aside from the original WhatsApp messenger app, there is what is known as the GBWhatsApp, a mod of the app, one of the few, that enhances the existing features of WhatsApp messenger.

While the traditional version of the messaging app can be downloaded from Google Play Store, the GBWhatsApp cannot be downloaded from the app store but instead, via APK or Android Application Package, a package file format for distribution as well as installation of middle ware and mobile apps on Android Operating Systems.

The GBWhatsApp can be considered a clone of WhatsApp messenger that offers features like video calling, text messaging, among others. However, this clone app is said to be better than the original messaging app.

Recently, WhatsApp came up with a beta version that allows video calling. GBWhatsApp was not left behind since it also had an update, version 4.91. But instead of the limited audio files that can be sent via WhatsApp messenger, the clone app lets the user send at least 100 MB of files.

Aside from this, there are other features that were added to the app. These include a front selfie flash, capability to share GIFs, multiple chat sending, unlocked mentions and zooming in and out of live video recordings which are on top of the bug fixes.

Interested Android owners can install the GBWhatsApp downloader to be able to download and install the APK version. The installer package should be downloaded onto the mobile phone.

Meanwhile, there is another mobile app that also allows free calls and text messaging, LINE, from a Japanese company, NHN. Read more about this app here.
