The new tvOS 10.0.1 is coming just after the September tvOS 10 release, which brought Apple TV owners features like the Back in Black, Smarter Siri Search, New Apple Music Experience and so on. This version update is intended for fourth-gen Apple TV owners. The developer version of tvOS 10.0.1 has been recently released.
Some of the new features that tvOS brings are features that make the users experience more enjoyable. For example once the user has signed in to his cable provider he will be logged in on all channels automatically and the user won’t have to go to the whole set up process again with special codes or Safari. The user won’t have to search for the channels his provider has, the App Store comes with a list that automatically searches for what channels the cable provider has.
As of now, consumer-facing features have not been presented yet. The only information we have is that the single sign-on feature will be coming soon enough.
This is how you can install the tvOS 10.0.1 beta over-the-air.
- The First step the user has to take is to go his Mac, access developer.apple.com/download, and then enter is developer name and password.
- Click the Download button, install the Apple Configurator app from the Mac App Store, connect Apple TV to AC power, then connect the Apple TV to a Mac using a special USB-C cable and launch the Apple Configurator.
- Once the Configurator has been opened click on Add Profiles and add the tvOS 10.0.1 beta configuration profile that was downloaded before.
- Now all that remains is to reboot the Apple TV, access Settings-System-Software Update.
